Dieser kleine Tipp entstand nach einem kurzen Ausflug ins deutsche Linux Mint-Forum, ein Nutzer hat das Problem, dass er unter Linux Mint eine E-Mail von einem Outlook-Nutzer bekommen hat – eine Datei mit der Endung „.msg<\/strong>“ – Microsoft-Shit eben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nun, kein Problem – daf\u00fcr gibt es Konverter. Die richtige Software nennt sich\u00a0MsgConvert<\/strong>\u00a0und ist unter auf Debian basierenden Linux-Distributionen ganz einfach \u00fcber die\u00a0Paket-Verwaltung\u00a0durch das Paket „libemail-outlook-message-perl<\/strong>“ installierbar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die MSG-Datei gilt es nun zu speichern und am\u00a0Terminal\u00a0zu konvertieren. Im Beispiel nennt sich die gespeicherte Datei nun „Dateiname.msg<\/strong>„:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

msgconvert --mbox dateiname.mbox Dateiname.msg<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n
Zu Beginn finden Sie den Befehl „msgconvert<\/strong>„, mit der Option „–mbox<\/strong>“ erstellt man die Datei „dateiname.mbox<\/strong>„, zuletzt folgt die zu konvertierende Datei – also „Dateiname.mbox<\/strong>“ – deren Inhalt wird in die zu erstellende Datei geschrieben – also „dateiname.mbox<\/strong>„, diese l\u00e4sst sich nun wieder etwa in\u00a0Thunderbird<\/a>\u00a0oder einem sonstigen E-Mail-Client \u00f6ffnen.<\/p>\n
