Ziel ist es, das System nach einem Crash, Hardware-Defekt oder Konfigurationsproblem rasch vollst\u00e4ndig wiederherzustellen, meist auf die exakte Ausgangssituation. Damit wird h\u00e4ufig ein Abbild des aktuellen Systemzustands erzeugt, inklusive installierter Pakete und Einstellungen, sodass sich ein identisches Linux-System auf einen neuen Rechner umziehen oder nach Fehlern vollst\u00e4ndig wiederherstellen l\u00e4sst. Ziel ist es, Dokumente, Fotos, Projekte, E-Mails usw. vor Verlust zu bewahren, etwa durch versehentliches L\u00f6schen, Hardwareausfall oder Malware. Diese Methode ist flexibler, da einzelne Ordner oder Dateien einfach kopiert und bei Bedarf selektiv wiederhergestellt werden k\u00f6nnen. Es wird genutzt, um das Betriebssystem (Systemdateien und -einstellungen) zu einem bestimmten Stand zur\u00fcckzusetzen, etwa nach einem Update oder einer fehlerhaften \u00c4nderung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ein klassisches Backup zeichnet sich hingegen dadurch aus, dass alle wichtigen Daten (inklusive Benutzerdateien) strukturiert und langfristig gespeichert werden und sich gezielt einzelne Daten oder Verzeichnisse daraus wiederherstellen lassen.
