Es wurde urspr\u00fcnglich f\u00fcr Ubuntu entwickelt, ist aber seit 2016 auch mit anderen Linux-Distributionen kompatibel. Es wurde erstmals 2004 unter dem Namen &#8222;klik&#8220; eingef\u00fchrt und sp\u00e4ter in &#8222;Portable Linux Apps&#8220; sowie schlie\u00dflich in &#8222;AppImage&#8220; umbenannt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Portabilit\u00e4t:<\/strong> <br>AppImages sind eigenst\u00e4ndige Dateien, die alle ben\u00f6tigten Bibliotheken enthalten, sodass sie auf verschiedenen Linux-Distributionen ohne Anpassungen ausgef\u00fchrt werden k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Keine Installation erforderlich:<\/strong><br>Anwendungen im AppImage-Format m\u00fcssen nicht installiert werden. Die g\u00e4ngigsten Formate sind .tar.gz und .tar.bz21. Diese Archive m\u00fcssen entpackt und die enthaltene Software manuell via Start-Datei gestartet werden.<br>Diese l\u00e4sst sich relativ unkompliziert ins Anwendungsmen\u00fc integrieren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">NOTA<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moderne Linux-Distibutionen wie etwa Debian, Ubuntu oder Linux Mint stellen in ihren Software-Repository eine Vielzahl an Software, Anwendungen und Tools unterschiedlichster Kategorien bereit. Der Bezug aus dieser Quelle wird empfohlen. Dies dient der Sicherheit und der Stabilit\u00e4t des Systems.
